I am interested in using computational biology to answer questions about insect evolution, especially phylogenetic systematics of flies and dragonflies. My current project involves reconstructing a phylogeny of Anax, a group of dragonflies best known for their large body size and incredible flying ability. I am interested in how species of Anax from different parts of the world are related to each other and what the population boundaries are for some of them, which make annual migrations from Canada to Mexico each fall.
