Perez-Losada Published Article on New Iranian Earthworm Genus in PLoS one

February 07, 2019

DrĀ Marcos Perez-Losada, assistant professor in the Computational Biology Institute and Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, co-authored an article published in PLoS one on January 30th, 2019, titled "Multigene phylogeny reveals a new Iranian earthworm genus (Lumbricidae: Philomontanus) with three new species." Using phylogenetic analyses, the authors proposed a clarification of the hitherto confusing results of Lumbricidae classifications. Their findings support the adoption of an integrative approach including molecular information to aid earthworm classification and develop a robust taxonomy.
