Keith Crandall Attending SciFoo Camp in Mountain View, CA

July 12, 2019

From Friday, July 12 to Sunday, July 14th, Professor Keith Crandall (Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics; Director, Computational Biology Institute) will be participating in the Science Foo (commonly called “SciFoo”) Camp at Google in Mountain View, California. The “unconference,” organized by O’Reilly Media (FOO standing for “friends of O’Reilly”) is focused on emerging technologies and sciences, bringing together and encouraging collaboration between academics, researchers and policymakers who would not normally have the opportunity to engage with each other across disciplinary boundaries. The meeting consists of a series of lightning talks, sessions, and opportunities for informal discussion. The camp is an invitation-only event, presenting participants with the chance to tackle major issues in science and policy, and has taken place every summer since 2006.
