BioGenomics 2017: The Global Biodiversity Genomics Conference

The Smithsonian Institute for Biodiversity Genomics (SIBG) and BGI are co-organizing the inaugural Global Biodiversity Genomics Conference to be held 20-23 February 2017 in Washington, D.C. at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History and at the JW Marriott Washington DC hotel.

The opening day of the conference will feature a Plenary Address by E.O. Wilson and 4 featured sessions on Conservation, Ecological, Environmental, and Diversity Genomics. The day will conclude with a reception in the Rotunda of the National Museum of Natural History. Subsequent days sessions will occur at the conference hotel venue, the JW Marriott Washington DC.

The Global Biodiversity Genomics Conference will bring together thought leaders, research and academic scientists, and IT professionals. The conference will be the first to address the move from human to non-human biodiversity genomics; it will also be the first to focus on the interactions and synergies among biodiversity researchers, technologists, software developers, and research computing professionals.
